Large pelagic teams shine at
FIRST LEGO League Challenge.
Battery Powered Pickle Jar Head
Congratulations to the Battery Powered Pickle Jar Head team from Lexington Public Schools of Massachusetts, who took home First place in the Project Research Category at the Blackstone Valley FIRST LEGO LEAGUE Competition on November 22.. The grade 6 to 10 students interviewed several experts including Dr. Molly Lutcavage while working on their project " Possible Causes and Solutions to the Declining Bluefin Tuna Population". The team also competed at the Quincy First Lego League Competion on Decmeber 6th. The Batter Powered Pickle Jar Head will be competing at the State Championships at Worcester Polytechnic Institute on December 20, 2008, and we wish them all the best.

The Blizzards
Congratulations to The Blizzards from Nashua, NH, who placed third in the JR. FIRST LEGO LEAGUE Challenge on November 20, 2008. This grade 4 & 5 student project focused on the effects of climate change on leatherback turtles. The Blizzards meet with PhD student Kara Dodge during the course of their research on leatherback turtles.
